Member, Governor's Task Force on Eastern Shore Economic Development, 2000-01; Upper Shore Regional Council, 2003-06. Board of Trustees, Local Government Insurance Trust. Member, Commission to Study Local Maintenance of Effort [for educational funding], 2005-07; Cecil/Harford Bridges Work Group, 2006.

Chair, Board of Directors, Bainbridge Development Corporation, 2009-11. President, Board of Elections, Cecil County, 2011-13 (member, 2007-13).

Born in Akron, Ohio, October 24, 1935. M.E. (secondary education). Former school principal, Cecil County. President, Maryland Association of Counties, 2005 (education committee; legislative committee; school construction committee). Chair, Board of Directors, Elkton Alliance, Inc., 2008-13. Board of Directors, Boys and Girls Club of Cecil County; Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services, Inc. Past president, Cecil County Public School Administrators; Elkton Rotary Club. Past member, Executive Board, Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals; Maryland Association of Retired Teachers. Outstanding Citizen of North East, North East Lions Club, 1977. Married; four children, fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Died in Elkton, Maryland, February 14, 2013.
