In July 2019, the Work Group on Alcohol Outlet Density Zones in Prince George's County was formed by the General Assembly (Chapter 353, Acts of 2019).
In alignment with the standards of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Guide for Measuring Alcohol Outlet Density, the Work Group may identify areas in Prince George's County as alcohol outlet density zones if these areas have high concentrations of off-sale retail licenses, that is, licenses permitting the sale of alcoholic beverages only in sealed containers for off-premises consumption. The Work Group may propose that each area with 1.15 or more off-sale retail license holders per square mile be designated as an alcohol outlet density zone. Any other relevant factors may be considered by the Work Group.
Authorization for the Work Group ends December 31, 2020.
