In July 2015, the One Maryland Blue Ribbon Commission was created (Chapter 191, Acts of 2015).
The Commission reviewed advantages and disadvantages of the current State procurement process for businesses located in Maryland; current State incentives for Maryland businesses to participate in State contracts; and geographic partnerships to determine whether State agencies are contracting with businesses located in the State. Following these reviews, the Commission recommended policies to improve the procurement process by ensuring transparency and greater participation of Maryland businesses in State contracting.
In January 2016, the Commission submitted an interim report and planned to submit its final report in May or June 2016.
Authorization for the Commission ended June 30, 2016.
