In July 2007, the Task Force to Improve Child Support Compliance in Prince George's County was initiated (Chapter 246, Acts of 2007). The Task Force was to develop a plan and draft legislation to improve child support compliance in Prince George's County among noncustodial parents who meet a series of requirements. The Task Force also considered methods by which to better establish paternity. Further, the Task Force evaluated the efficacy of privatizing child support enforcement services.

In July 2008, the Task Force submitted its final report. Authorization for the Task Force ended on July 31, 2008.
