In October 2007, the first Baby Boomer Initiative Council was authorized (Chapter 506, Acts of 2007). Authorization for that council ended December 31, 2011.
In October 2012, the Baby Boomer Initiative Council was reestablished (Chapter 118, Acts of 2012).
The Council was to develop a plan to meet the needs of baby boomers (those born from 1946 through 1964). The plan was to focus on improving communication among State agencies, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and academic institutions so that resources are available to baby boomers, and they, in turn, can become a resource to meet the needs of their communities.
Authorization for the Council ended May 31, 2015.
