In May 2020, the Chair of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee convened the Work Group on COVID-19 and Housing.
The Work Group heard testimony from persons working in landlord-tenant issues and considered actions needed to avert the looming crisis in evictions for those unemployed or sickened due to the coronavirus.
In July 2020, the Work Group submitted its recommendations to the Senate President.
